NFL Sunday Preview: Packers vs. Eagles

This matchup should be a good one with two of the top QB's facing off in Michael Vick and Aaron Rodgers.  Vick finished just behind Rodgers in passer rating for the year.  However, Vick is clearly the more dynamic and versatile player with his speed and ability to run the ball.  The Packers were fortunate to win this matchup in week 1 when Kolb went out with a concussion.  Vick nearly led the Eagles to a 2nd half comeback.

The Packers have lost 4 straight road playoff games including a 2004 loss to the Eagles that they would love to put in the past.  The Green Bay defense held the Eagles big playmakers, DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy, in check in their first meeting this year.

Vick and Eagles have too much firepower and will have the home crowd behind them.  Aaron Rodgers and the Packers have not been good in close games this year and will have all the pressure they could ask for in this afternoon's game.

Prediction:
Eagles -1.5
Over 46.5

NFL Saturday Preview: Jets vs. Colts

Rex Ryan has waited a year for this moment.  He says this matchup between the Jets and Colts is personal and that he's going to Lucas Oil Stadium to win.  Despite all the distractions the Jets have faced this year with player troubles and foot fetishes, the Jets still went 11-5 in the regular season.

Manning has destroyed Rex Ryan's defenses in the past throwing for 12 TD's and only 2 INT's.  The Colts needed a game winning FG from Adam Vinatieri last week against the Titans to clinch their playoff berth.  Mark Sanchez is fully healthy and ready to go.  He will face a Colts defense who is yielding about 5 more points then when he faced them last season.

If the Jets win they will head to New England to face Tom Brady and the Patriots.  The Colts have been good at home this season while the Jets have been equally as good on the road.  This game could come down to the wire.

Prediction:
Jets +2
Over 44.5

Texas Christian University strikes back with billboards in and around Columbus in response to Ohio State President, Gordon Gee's comments about TCU's schedule.  According to the Sagarin rankings, the Bucks SOS was 50th compared to TCU's 60th ranked schedule.  The Horned Frogs defeated the best the Big Ten had to offer, the Wisconsin Badgers.  On the other hand the Buckeye's were very fortunate to win a sloppy game against Arkansas.

Terrell Pryor along with 4 other players suspension should have taken affect immediately starting with the Sugar Bowl for their actions off the field.  Trading in rings and signed memorabilia to get tatted up?  C'mon MAN.

Approximately 20 billboards from the "Little Sisters of the Poor" can be found around the city of Columbus.  Gordon Gee could not be found for comments.  It's okay though, he wouldn't know what he was talking about anyways.  Go Frogs.

NFL Saturday Preview: Saints vs. Seahawks

First year coach Pete Carroll will square off against Drew Brees and the defending Super Bowl champs this Saturday at 4:30.  The Saints are currently a 10.5 point favorite with the over/under set at 44.  Seattle made NFL history by becoming the first team with a losing record to play for a division title.

New Orleans will be without running backs Pierre Thomas and youngster, Chris Ivory.  The Saints will be left with Reggie Bush and the one time Seahawk, Julius Jones.  About 60% of bettors are currently backing the Saints.  However, there are a few interesting things to point out when looking into this matchup.  Such as, Matt Hasselbeck has had his 2 best games in terms of passing yards against the Saints in the past six seasons.  Also, Hasselbeck has won his last 4 post season starts at home.  The Saints have lost their past 3 postseason games.

Seattle is a tough place to play.  The place will be loud and the fans and team will be rowdy and poised for a victory.  Pete Carroll has always been a winner and will give the Saints more than they expect.  We're rooting for the underdog here.  Let's go Seahawks.

Prediction:
Seahawks +10.5
Over 44
